LENNAR WINS CROOKED DEAL TO DEVELOP PARCEL A

The full Board of Supervisors (BOS) December 14, 2004 addressed those agenda item linked to fees which needed extra notice and did not meet the notice requirements at the December 7, 2004 BOS meeting. As happened the last time Supervisors Chris Daly and Matt Gonzalez voted against those agenda items and in favor of those community environmentalists and experts who have stood our ground on behalf of the community. The rest of the Supervisors with Sophie Maxwell in the lead sold out the community and did disservice to the constituents of San Francisco.

Some of the stalwarts are Ahimsa Sumchai, Clifton Smith, Maurice Campbell, Barbara George, Lynne Brown, Mary Bull, Willie Ratcliff, Espanola Jackson, Francisco Da Costa and a host of others who really cannot afford the time and money to attend long hours coming before the various subcommittee meetings, meeting before Commissions, the BOS to testify for two or three minutes. They did the community proud.

This fight as I see it is about Quality of Life Issues. It is also about what the First People the Muwekma Ohlone stand for - the best interests of the people who live and respect the land. On both issues Lennar BVHP LLC, the District Supervisor for District 10, Michael Cohen, Larry Florin, Saul Bloom, Olin Webb do not stand for what the community desires and aspires. We have seen sellouts before and we will see them in the future. The sellouts are about Greed and Money.

Parcel A is just one parcel and there will come a time when the other parcels come up to conveyed to the City and County of San Francisco. We still have parcel B, C, D, and E. We also have not addressed the Cumulative Pollution Issues surrounding a 3-mile area and then a 6-mile area. The last time any empirical data was collected was in 1990. We are now in 2004 and we have yet to address and compile mandated data. We boast in San Francisco that we are a City that knows how - well in this regard we have done great injustice to the numerous infants who are dying because we all have failed them. More so the so called Supervisors who lack the education and the compassion to do right. To those that fought hard we have won because we did our best. The Truth always prevails. Time will tell.

Dr Ahimsa Sumchai voting NO on Parcel A.
