HUGE TRUCKS AND TOXIC DUST (9/10/07)

Parcel A on Hunters Point has played hell on the constituents that live near by. Daily huge trucks, other grading equipment, jack hammers, and you name it have caused clouds of toxic dust to be spread far and wide.

Lennar BVHP LLC could have easily used millions of gallons of water to keep the dust down but did not. Lennar signed a Dust Mitigation Plan but failed to follow it and cast aside basic rules and regulations that govern any Occupation Safety and Health manual when it comes to demolition and grading of vast areas.

Lennar knew well about the adverse impacts of Ultramaphic Serpentine Rock when crushed produces Asbestos Structures - very dangerous to all living beings and that includes human beings. Yet, it chose in its stupidity to cap the safe level of Asbestos Structures to 16,000 per cubic meter- astounding experts, doctors, hygienists, and a score of others that know about the in and outs of such operations.

Take a look at the heavy equipment and most of the photographs were taken when little or no water was used to suppress the dust as a result of the on going operations.

A wide area of about 3 miles for sure has been drastically impacted with Mayor Gavin Newsom and the San Francisco Health authorities looking the other way.

It is just a matter of time when this information and the sad occurrences that have taken place at Parcel A in the Bayview Hunters Point will be revealed to the world. 60 Minutes and others are coming and once here no one can stop them.

The City and County of San Francisco is responsible for all the adverse impacts. The City chose to hand over the land to San Francisco Redevelopment Agency - who in turn gave it the worst developer in the Nation - the Lennar Corporation. The rest is history.
